Guess Where Hotels is written and edited by an independent editor. Every guide is built from official property information, published reviews and awards, and recent traveler feedback. Before publication, each hotel’s details, including location, room types, amenities, and booking information, are rechecked against the property’s current information. Guides are written from a traveler’s point of view, with a focus on what a stay is actually like and who it suits best.

How We Choose Hotels

Each guide starts with a destination, not a hotel list. We look at where the best stays are located, how each property feels once you arrive, and what it offers that its neighbors do not. We favor hotels with a clear identity, strong service, and a setting worth traveling for. Properties with frequent complaints about service or upkeep are noted honestly or left out.

How We Research

We combine official property information, published hotel reviews and awards from sources such as Forbes Travel Guide and the Michelin Guide, recent traveler feedback, and our own editorial analysis. Our guides are based on this research rather than on paid or hosted stays. If we include first-hand observations in a guide, we label them clearly and keep them separate from information gathered from other sources.

Keeping Guides Current
